Gluten-Free Cheese Scones Recipe

Cheese scones were a favorite of mine when I was a child, my mum regularly baked these for the family.

Equipment

Ingredients
 
 

  • 225 g Gluten-free self-raising flour
  • 30 g Unsalted butter
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 100 g Mature cheddar cheese grated
  • Pinch of salt
  • 150 ml Pint of milk
  • 1 tsp Italian herbs
  • 1 tsp Gluten-free baking powder

Instructions
 

  • Rub the butter into the flour until like breadcrumbs.
  • Add a pinch of salt.
  • Mix in milk and beaten egg.
  • Bring ingredients together and mix well.
  • Turn out onto a well-floured surface.
  • Roll the dough to a depth of about 1 centimetre and cut out using round dough cutters.
  • Brush top with egg and cook in oven gas 6 or 200c for 12-15 minutes.
  • Leave to cool and enjoy!
