Ultimate Chick-fil-A Gluten-Free Menu Guide For 2025
Chick-fil-A’s gluten-free menu features grilled chicken, salads, gluten-free buns, and more. Find safe and tasty options for your next gluten-free meal!
Like many fast-food chains, navigating through the Chick-fil-A drive-thru when you have celiac disease can often feel like you’re tiptoeing through a minefield!
Of course, after 30 years of being a celiac myself and having to be completely gluten-free that entire time, I know that a little prep and the right menu knowledge go a long way! 😄🎓
Thankfully, if you’re making Chick-fil-A your top fast-food joint of choice, you’d be surprised to know that they have a pretty good selection of gluten-free menu items.
Look around, and you could find a variety of certified gluten-free buns, grilled chicken options, and a handful of sides, treats, as well as salads and way more that are celiac-safe! 🍞🍗🥗
Nevertheless, just like any other restaurant, when you have a pretty sensitive celiac disease like me, caution is always welcome.
Despite the Chick-fil-A gluten-free menu being quite abundant in choices, you have to remember that with shared prep areas and utensils, you still have to tread carefully.
With that in mind, let’s see what the Chick-fil-A gluten-free menu has to offer us. ✅
Table of Contents
Disclaimer
Once again, be warned that the Chick-fil-A gluten-free menu offers several celiac-safe choices. However, all menu items are prepared in a shared kitchen using common fryers, grills, cutting boards, and other utensils.
That said, even items and meals that have been marked or sealed as ‘gluten-free’ still carry a risk of cross-contact. ⚠️🤚🚫
Depending on how sensitive you are as a celiac, that’s a risk that you need to remember before you stop by a Chick-fil-A!
In fact, even according to Chick-fil-A’s Nutrition & Allergens page, you might find variations in supplier ingredients and handcrafted recipes, meaning that Chick-fil-A, in their own words:
…cannot ensure that our food is free from any allergens…
For example, you’ll notice that highly refined peanut oil (used for all the frying) is exempt from being labelled as an allergen by the FDA, but sesame, wheat, milk, egg, and soy are all present in pretty much any Chick-fil-A kitchen. 🌾🥛🥚
So, if you’re super-sensitive, when ordering from the Chick-fil-A gluten-free menu, here are my personal tips to further reduce the risk of cross-contamination:
- Let the server know that you have celiac disease or a severe gluten allergy. Doing this would at least make them a bit more cautious when prepping your food, and they might communicate it to the kitchen staff.
- Ask the server and especially the kitchen staff if they could use fresh gloves or even sanitized utensils when preparing your food, and if possible, use a clean prep surface.
- When ordering, try to use or order from sealed items whenever available. Of course, there are some things that can’t be ordered separately, like the Chick-fil-A gluten-free buns, chips, bacon slices, and so on. But for other menu items, only open them at your table.
- Last but not least, as I normally recommend to basically every celiac when they are eating out, make sure that you review the latest Chick-fil-A Nutrition & Allergens guide! Before ordering, it would give you a really good idea of what does and doesn’t contain any allergens.
Chick-fil-A Allergen Policy (Gluten-Free)
Speaking of, you could check out Chick-fil-A’s Nutrition & Allergens page here. This interactive page lets you filter ingredients such as wheat (make sure that you flick that button on the left-hand side from ‘Nutrition’ to ‘Allergens’).
This ought to give you a better idea of what is and isn’t safe for celiacs like you and me to order from their menu in real-time! 📝✅
Oh, and besides the Chick-fil-A Nutrition & Allergens page, there are a couple of very insightful resources on their website that I’d suggest checking out, though bear in mind that they might not always be up-to-date:
- They have a short little FAQ on what is and isn’t gluten-free on the Chick-fil-A menu, which you could read here. Again, I’d suggest only reading this for context, as the list here isn’t kept up-to-date like the Nutrition & Allergens page.
- Then, there’s another separate, similar page to quickly list what is or isn’t gluten-free on their menu for catering-specific dishes. Again, I’d suggest using this only for reference, and use the Nutrition & Allergens page, but you can read it here.
- Oh, and they have this huge FAQ section for Nutrition & Allergens, talking about Halal dishes, how much MSG is included in each menu item, how accurate the calorie counts are, whether Chick-fil-A uses peanut oil for frying, and loads more! You can find that here.
You could even try saving this webpage offline as a PDF, or just bookmark it in your browser in case you’re visiting Chick-fil-A, and need a quick guide.
I’d 100% suggest that you check this page every so often, as Chick-fil-A will regularly update this list any time they add any new items.
Of course, you could also filter out other allergens, like milk, eggs, soy, nuts, and more.
With that in mind, the highlight of the Chick-fil-A gluten-free menu is their certified gluten-free bun! First launched back in 2017, those gluten-free buns are made out of sorghum, amaranth, millet, and buckwheat.
They even come individually packaged to avoid cross-contact when they arrive at Chick-fil-A’s kitchens. 🌾🥪
Granted, remember that the buns only remain gluten-free so long as they remain sealed! Once unwrapped, it’ll only actually be properly gluten-free if the kitchen staff handle it with care and prevent cross-contact with all those nasty non-gluten-free items in the kitchen.
With this out of the way, let’s take a look at the Chick-fil-A gluten-free menu to see what you can or can’t eat!
Breakfast
Starting off with the Chick-fil-A gluten-free breakfast menu, unfortunately, I have some pretty bad news for you. While their breakfast menu is filled to the brim with a generous variety of biscuits, burritos, muffins, and lighter bowls and fruit cups…
Most of the breaded items are reliant on wheat flour, making them completely not celiac-safe! 😱⛔🌾
In fact, of the many dishes that you could find on their Chick-fil-A gluten-free breakfast menu, only a few of them are actually safe for celiacs, with very minimal and safe doses of gluten:
❌ Chicken Biscuit
❌ Spicy Chicken Biscuit
❌ Chick-n-Minis
❌ Egg White Grill
❌ Hash Brown Scramble Burrito
✅ Hash Brown Scramble Bowl
❌ Chicken, Egg & Cheese Biscuit
❌ Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit
❌ Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit
❌ Chicken, Egg & Cheese Muffin
❌ Bacon, Egg & Cheese Muffin
❌ Sausage, Egg & Cheese Muffin
✅ Hash Browns
⚠️ Berry Parfait
✅ Fruit Cup
For context, in case you’re new here to Great Without Gluten, here are what those little emojis mean:
Items marked ❌ rely on wheat-based breads, wraps, or muffins. On the other hand, ✅ items use naturally gluten-free ingredients. Meanwhile, ⚠️ items (such as bowls and granola) can be gluten-free but carry some cross-contact risk.
So, bear that in mind as we go through the entire Chick-fil-A gluten-free menu. But first, here’s a rundown on their breakfast menu items:
Chicken Biscuit: A hand-breaded chicken filet on a buttermilk biscuit. But both the chicken batter and the biscuit do contain wheat flour.
Spicy Chicken Biscuit: Identical to the Chicken Biscuit, but seasoned with spicy peppers. It’s still served on wheat biscuits, so it’s not safe for celiacs.
Chick-n-Minis: Bite-sized chicken nuggets in mini yeast rolls made from wheat flour. Once again, this makes it not gluten-free.
Egg White Grill: Grilled chicken, egg whites, and American cheese on a toasted English muffin (which contains wheat).
Hash Brown Scramble Burrito: Eggs, potatoes, cheese, and chicken wrapped in a flour tortilla, which isn’t celiac-safe, either.
Hash Brown Scramble Bowl: Eggs, shredded potatoes, cheese, and your choice of protein—no bread or wrap. Thus, it’s safe for celiacs, so long as you’re careful about cross-contact.
Chicken, Egg & Cheese Biscuit: Folded egg, cheese, and chicken filet on a wheat biscuit.
Bacon, Egg & Cheese Biscuit: Bacon, egg, and cheese on a non-gluten-free wheat biscuit.
Sausage, Egg & Cheese Biscuit: Sausage patty, egg, and cheese on the same wheat biscuit.
Chicken, Egg & Cheese Muffin: Same as the biscuit version but on an English muffin (wheat).
Bacon, Egg & Cheese Muffin: Bacon, egg, and cheese on a wheat English muffin.
Sausage, Egg & Cheese Muffin: Sausage, egg, and cheese on a wheat English muffin.
Hash Browns: Simply shredded potatoes, cooked separately from breaded items, so with an abundance of caution when it comes to cross-contact, it should be safe for celiacs.
Berry Parfait: Vanilla yogurt, berries, and Harvest Nut Granola (though it might be processed with gluten grains, so be cautious if you’re super-sensitive).
Fruit Cup: Sealed cup of fresh fruits, with no gluten-containing ingredients.
All in all, it’s not a good start for the Chick-fil-A gluten-free breakfast menu, with a lot of their menu items containing gluten and being unsafe for celiacs.
Moreover, bear in mind that even those items marked ✅ still share prep spaces, fryers, and utensils with gluten-filled items.
So, remember to let the staff know beforehand to reduce the risk of cross-contamination. 👩🍳
Entrées
Next up, it’s time to move on to the Chick-fil-A gluten-free entrees menu, with the brand’s very iconic selection of chicken sandwiches, nuggets, strips, and wraps!
On the one hand, most will rely on wheat-based buns or breading, making them unsafe for celiacs.
This means that those Chick-fil-A Grilled Nuggets are the only naturally gluten-free menu item here. 🍗
However, on the bright side, nearly every single sandwich and strip could otherwise be made gluten-free and celiac-safe by swapping in the individually packaged certified gluten-free bun.
Though bear in mind that this bun is an optional extra, which at the time of writing, will cost you an extra $1.15. Here’s a look at what you can or can’t swap out with that bun: 🥪🍔
⚠️ Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich
⚠️ Chick-fil-A Deluxe Sandwich
⚠️ Spicy Chicken Sandwich
❌ Chick-fil-A Nuggets
✅ Grilled Nuggets
⚠️ Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich w/ Chick-fil-A Filet
❌ Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap
❌ Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips
⚠️ Grilled Chicken Sandwich
⚠️ Spicy Deluxe Sandwich
⚠️ Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich
Here’s a more thorough breakdown of how this fits into my personal Chick-fil-A gluten-free list:
Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich: Hand-breaded chicken filet is gluten-free by itself, but the classic bun contains wheat flour. To make this celiac-safe, swap to the certified gluten-free bun. That would apply to pretty much every sandwich here.
Chick-fil-A Deluxe Sandwich: Deluxe adds lettuce, tomato, and cheese on the same wheat bun. Once again, you could request to have that wheat bun swapped out for the gluten-free bun.
Spicy Chicken Sandwich: Same wheat bun as the classic sandwich, with a spicy-seasoned filet. The gluten-free bun swap applies here as well, but be warned about cross-contamination.
Chick-fil-A Nuggets: The breaded nuggets use wheat-based ingredients in their batter, making them unsafe for celiacs.
Grilled Nuggets: No breading or wheat ingredients, unlike the Chick-fil-A Nuggets. It’s simply seasoned grilled chicken here, making it safe for celiacs.
Smokehouse BBQ Bacon Sandwich w/ Chick-fil-A Filet: Features a breaded filet, bacon, cheese, pickles, and BBQ sauce on a wheat bun. Swapping the wheat bun for the gluten-free substitute bun is possible, but the sauce may contain hidden gluten, so do double-check.
Chick-fil-A Cool Wrap: Uses a flatbread wrap containing wheat flour, and there’s no gluten-free alternative available.
Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips: Breaded chicken strips that use wheat-based batter, so avoid this for all my fellow celiacs out there.
Grilled Chicken Sandwich: Lemon-herb marinated grilled filet served on a toasted multigrain bun (wheat). Like the other sandwiches here, you can make this gluten-free by swapping out that wheat bun.
Spicy Deluxe Sandwich: Spicy seasoned filet with lettuce, tomato, cheese on a wheat bun. Like those other sandwiches here, just swap out the wheat bun, and it’s now safe for celiacs, but make sure you’re wary of cross-contact in the kitchen.
Chick-fil-A Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich: Grilled filet, bacon, Colby-Jack, lettuce, tomato on wheat bun. Just remember to order it with the gluten-free bun, and you’re good!
As always, while there are gluten-free and celiac-safe choices here (with a bun swap!), Chick-fil-A might prepare them on shared surfaces, using shared gloves and utensils that may have cross-contact risks.
They might even come into contact with those breaded items, so be sure that you inform your server of your celiac disease, and approach with caution. ⚠️
Salads
The Chick-fil-A gluten-free salads menu is just as tiny as the entire salads menu itself, as you’d only get one option as a celiac.
Each one is built on a bed of mixed greens, but they do feature default toppings (e.g., breaded nuggets, tortilla strips, or granola) that might contain traces of gluten. 🥖🥗
Technically speaking, you could make these gluten-free with some items swapped out, such as choosing grilled chicken or no chicken at all, and holding out on all their crunchy, wheat-based toppings.
Nevertheless, it’s a pretty complicated modification versus the default salads, so it’s hard to guarantee that the Chick-fil-A staff would do this for you:
⚠️ Cobb Salad
⚠️ Spicy Southwest Salad
⚠️ Market Salad
That said, let’s take a closer look at why these salads aren’t straightforward to include in my Chick-fil-A gluten-free list:
Cobb Salad: Breaded Chick-fil-A Nuggets atop greens, roasted corn, cheese blend, bacon, egg, grape tomatoes, plus charred tomato & crispy red bell pepper toppings. It’ll contain wheat in both the nuggets and the crispy peppers.
Spicy Southwest Salad: Spicy or regular grilled chicken atop greens with Monterey Jack and Cheddar, roasted corn, black beans, poblano chiles, red bell peppers, Seasoned Tortilla Strips, and chili lime pepitas. The tortilla strips contain wheat.
Market Salad: Grilled chicken, mixed greens, blue cheese, apples, strawberries, blueberries, served with Harvest Nut Granola and roasted almonds. The aforementioned granola contains oats, which are often processed with gluten.
Really, the only way celiacs like you and me could even enjoy these salads is by swapping out huge parts of their ingredients list just to make it gluten-free.
Even then, cross-contamination could be rife, even if you hold out on gluten-containing items like the charred tomato & crispy red bell peppers, the harvest nut granola, and so on.
It’s possible, but be cautious!😞
Sides
If you need something to complement your entrée, the Chick-fil-A gluten-free sides menu has a good number of options, from crunchy chips and fresh salads to comforting mac & cheese and soup!
Best of all, while some of these must be avoided, as they’re not safe for celiacs, there are a handful of delectable gluten-free choices! 🍟🥗🧀
⚠️ Chick-fil-A Waffle Potato Fries
✅ Fruit Cup
❌ Side Salad
❌ Mac & Cheese
❌ Chicken Noodle Soup
✅ Waffle Potato Chips
✅ Kale Crunch Side
✅ Buddy Fruits Apple Sauce
With that in mind, here’s a breakdown of what is or isn’t safe in the Chick-fil-A gluten-free sides menu:
Chick-fil-A Waffle Potato Fries: Made from potatoes and seasoned salt, with no gluten in sight. However, as it’s cooked in peanut oil that is shared with breaded items, you have to be careful when it comes to cross-contamination.
Fruit Cup: A nutritious fruit mix made with chopped pieces of red and green apples, mandarin orange segments, fresh strawberry slices, and blueberries, served chilled. Prepared fresh daily.
Side Salad: Mixed greens, shredded cheese, grape tomatoes, charred tomato, crispy red bell peppers, and your choice of dressing. However, while I thought this would be a safe pick, the Chick-fil-A’s Nutrition & Allergens list does show that it contains gluten, so avoid this, too.
Mac & Cheese: Elbow macaroni (wheat) bathed in a three-cheese blend, which does contain some gluten.
Chicken Noodle Soup: Features egg noodles made with wheat alongside shredded chicken and vegetables.
Waffle Potato Chips: Kettle-cooked waffle chips, sealed at the factory. There are no gluten-containing ingredients, so it’s safe for celiacs.
Kale Crunch Side: A blend of curly kale, green cabbage, matchstick carrots, roasted almonds, and apple cider vinaigrette, with no wheat ingredients.
Buddy Fruits Apple Sauce: 100% natural applesauce in a sealed pouch, and there are no gluten ingredients, and they’re also individually packaged.
Overall, at least you have more options here than the previous menu items, and you do get a few celiac-safe menu items. I should note that I’ve omitted a couple of items here in the side menu – namely, the Fruit Cup and the Berry Parfait – as they’re basically the same items as the breakfast options.
Regardless, always be careful when it comes to cross-contact! ⚠️
Kid’s Meals
Moving on to the Chick-fil-A gluten-free Kid’s Meals, made for little appetites, which is a good metaphor, as celiacs get few choices here, too!
In fact, only one of the three is naturally gluten-free, as Chick-fil-A’s breading uses wheat-based batters that contain gluten. 🍗🌾
❌ 5 Ct Nuggets Kid’s Meal
❌ 2 Ct Chick-n-Strips Kid’s Meal
✅ 5 Ct Grilled Nuggets Kid’s Meal
Here’s a quick peek at why most of these Chick-fil-A gluten-free Kid’s Meals menu items aren’t safe for celiacs:
5 Ct Nuggets Kid’s Meal: This includes five breaded Chick-fil-A Nuggets, made with enriched bleached flour (wheat flour, malted barley flour, etc.) and pressure-cooked in peanut oil. The latter is likely shared with other non-gluten-free ingredients, too.
2 Ct Chick-n-Strips Kid’s Meal: Features two breaded Chick-fil-A Chick-n-Strips that contain wheat in the batter and seasonings.
5 Ct Grilled Nuggets Kid’s Meal: Five grilled chicken pieces with no breading or wheat-based ingredients, simply seasoned chicken breast. This ought to make it safe for celiacs.
Nevertheless, remember that even the sole gluten-free choice here – those grilled nuggets – will be prepared in kitchens that handle breaded items, buns, and shared utensils.
So, remember to inform your server of your (or your kid’s) celiac disease or a severe gluten allergy, as they could relay to the kitchen staff to be a bit more careful when prepping your meals. 👩🍳🍽
Treats
Elsewhere, Chick-fil-A’s gluten-free treats menu, with a variety of sweet and frozen treats, is surprisingly celiac-friendly.
Most of them rely on ingredients that don’t contain any wheat, but others are a definite no-go for anyone with celiac.
✅ Frosted Lemonade
✅ Frosted Coffee
✅ Pineapple Dragonfruit Frosted Lemonade
✅ Vanilla Milkshake
❌ Cookies & Cream Milkshake
✅ Chocolate Milkshake
✅ Strawberry Milkshake
✅ Chick-fil-A Icedream Cup
❌ Chick-fil-A Icedream Cone
❌ Chocolate Chunk Cookie
❌ Chocolate Fudge Brownie
Now, let’s break down even further why some of these can’t qualify for my Chick-fil-A gluten-free list:
Frosted Lemonade: A blend of Chick-fil-A Lemonade and Icedream, with no wheat ingredients.
Frosted Coffee: Icedream meets cold-brew coffee for a creamy treat, which is also wheat-free!
Pineapple Dragonfruit Frosted Lemonade: Seasonal mash-up of lemonade, Icedream, pineapple & dragon fruit flavors, with no gluten ingredients.
Vanilla Milkshake: Hand-spun Icedream with whipped cream & cherry, and Chick-fil-A lists it as gluten-free, too.
Cookies & Cream Milkshake: Vanilla shake blended with cookie pieces. It contains wheat from cookie crumbs, so avoid it as much as possible if you’re a celiac.
Chocolate Milkshake: Icedream plus chocolate syrup, and Chick-fil-A confirms this to be among their gluten-free shakes.
Strawberry Milkshake: Made similarly to vanilla, using strawberry purée, and it’s also on the gluten-free list, too!
Chick-fil-A Icedream Cup: Classic vanilla soft-serve in a cup, with no wheat in the ingredients.
Chick-fil-A Icedream Cone: Same vanilla treat, but served in a wheat-based sugar cone, so it’s not safe for anyone with celiac, like you and me.
Chocolate Chunk Cookie: Soft-baked cookie loaded with chunks, but it’s made with enriched wheat flour. As such, it’s not gluten-free.
Chocolate Fudge Brownie: Dense, cocoa-rich square made from wheat flour, making this off-limits for celiacs and sadly, not safe for me.
Again, bear in mind that even their gluten-free and celiac-safe items share prep areas, scoops, and fryers with gluten-containing foods.
To help reduce cross-contamination risk, you may try informing your server of your celiac disease or a severe gluten allergy – and thus, letting their kitchen staff know – to be extra, super careful. 🍧🍨🍦
Beverages
To quench your thirst, the Chick-fil-A beverages menu is abundant with options, and to make it even better, if you’re a celiac, all of them are safe and don’t contain any gluten!
It might sound obvious, but you’d be surprised how many beverages actually contain even the tiniest traces of gluten, but if you’re super-sensitive, Chick-fil-A has a ton of safe picks for you:
✅ Freshly-Brewed Iced Tea Sweetened
✅ Freshly-Brewed Iced Tea Unsweetened
✅ Chick-fil-A Lemonade
✅ Chick-fil-A Diet Lemonade
✅ Sunjoy (1/2 Sweet Tea, 1/2 Lemonade)
✅ Sunjoy (1/2 Sweet Tea, 1/2 Diet Lemonade)

✅ Sunjoy (1/2 Unsweet Tea, 1/2 Diet Lemonade)

✅ Coffee
✅ Iced Coffee
✅ DASANI Bottled Water
✅ Honest Kids Apple Juice
✅ Simply Orange
✅ 1% Chocolate Milk
✅ 1% Milk
✅ Dr Pepper
✅ Gallon Beverages
✅ Coca-Cola
Here’s a breakdown of every single beverage here, just in case you’re unsure if these qualify for my Chick-fil-A gluten-free list:
Freshly-Brewed Iced Tea Sweetened & Unsweetened: Brewed daily from a blend of tea leaves, with the sweetened version containing real cane sugar. Both options are naturally gluten-free.
Chick-fil-A Lemonade & Diet Lemonade: Made from a simple blend of lemon juice, water, and sugar (or sugar substitutes for the diet version). Again, no gluten-containing ingredients.
Sunjoy: A refreshing mix of Chick-fil-A Lemonade (or Diet Lemonade) and Freshly-Brewed Iced Tea (Sweetened or Unsweetened). All combinations are gluten-free, as well!
Pineapple Dragonfruit: These tropical drinks combine pineapple and dragon fruit flavors with Chick-fil-A’s classic beverages. The options include Lemonade, Iced Tea, and Sunjoy, and each variation here is gluten-free and celiac-safe.
Coffee & Iced Coffee: Chick-fil-A’s coffee offerings, including the handcrafted Iced Coffee made with cold-brewed coffee and 2% milk, are gluten-free.
DASANI Bottled Water: Purified water enhanced with minerals for taste, which are naturally gluten-free.
Honest Kids Apple Juice: A juice box containing organic apple juice, with no gluten ingredients.
Simply Orange: 100% pure-squeezed, pasteurized orange juice, which is also gluten-free.
1% Chocolate Milk & 1% Milk: Both milk options are naturally gluten-free and celiac-safe.
Dr Pepper & Coca-Cola: These fountain beverages are all gluten-free, too.
Gallon Beverages: Chick-fil-A offers gallon-sized versions of their beverages, including Iced Tea and Lemonade, which are all gluten-free.
Dipping Sauces and Dressings
Whether it’s a healthy salad or a side of nuggets, the Chick-fil-A gluten-free dipping sauces and dressings menu has a bucket load of choices for you to pick from. And, best of all, almost every single dipping sauce and dressing here is free of gluten, and thus, safe for celiacs, save for one.
Here’s what is and isn’t safe for you to dip with: 🌶🍅
✅ Barbeque Sauce
✅ Chick-fil-A Sauce
✅ Garden Herb Ranch Sauce
✅ Honey Mustard Sauce
✅ Polynesian Sauce (bottle only)
❌ Sweet & Spicy Sriracha Sauce
✅ Zesty Buffalo Sauce
✅ Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce
✅ Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing
✅ Creamy Salsa Dressing
✅ Fat-Free Honey Mustard Dressing
✅ Light Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing
✅ Light Italian Dressing
✅ Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette Dressing
Let’s now break down each dipping sauce and dressing one by one to see how they fit into my Chick-fil-A gluten-free list:
Barbeque Sauce: A tangy, smoky sauce made from tomato paste, molasses, and spices, which also contains no wheat.
Chick-fil-A Sauce: A blend of honey mustard, ranch, and barbecue flavors, which contains no gluten ingredients.
Garden Herb Ranch Sauce: Creamy buttermilk ranch with garlic and herbs, and they’re made without wheat.
Honey Mustard Sauce: A sweet-and-tangy mix of mustard, honey, and vinegar, and it’s gluten-free by recipe and ingredient.
Polynesian Sauce: A sweet-and-sour dip with pineapple and vinegar, and it comes gluten-free in the squeeze bottles.
Sweet & Spicy Sriracha Sauce: Chili-based sauce with a touch of sweetness, though as per the Chick-fil-A Nutrition & Allergens list, it does contain traces of wheat, so avoid this if you are a sensitive celiac.
Zesty Buffalo Sauce: Buffalo-style hot sauce, with no wheat ingredients.
Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce: Sweet-and-smoky barbecue sauce, and it also comes gluten-free.
Avocado Lime Ranch Dressing: Southwest-style ranch with real avocado and lime, without any wheat.
Creamy Salsa Dressing: Tomato- and spice-based dressing with a creamy finish, which contains no wheat or traces of gluten.
Fat-Free Honey Mustard Dressing: Light honey mustard with a vinegar base, and it’s also free of gluten.
Light Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing: Balsamic vinegar, oil, and seasonings, without any wheat.
Light Italian Dressing: Zesty herb-and-vinegar dressing, and like the other dressings here, it’s a gluten-free choice.
Zesty Apple Cider Vinaigrette Dressing: Apple cider vinegar, spices, and oil, with no gluten.
To Sum Up
As a whole, Chick-fil-A, which is well-known for its relatively small and focused menus when compared to plenty of its competition, offers a decently solid range of gluten-free options.
It encompasses their certified buns and grilled proteins, to salads, sides, and even their treats, as well! So, if you’re a celiac, Chick-fil-A is a decently safe hangout spot to eat at. 🍔🥪🥗
Of course, always remember that with shared prep areas and shared utensils, there’s always a risk of cross-contamination with non-gluten-free and celiac-unsafe ingredients and items.
With clear communication to your Chick-fil-A server and the kitchen staff, as well as keeping yourself up to date with their Nutrition & Allergens page, you could massively reduce the risks! ✍

Frequently Asked Questions
While doing some research on the Chick-fil-A gluten-free menus and seeing what’s safe for me, I came across some interesting questions that I thought I’d try and answer here:
Does Chick-fil-A offer a gluten-free bun?
Yes! A certified gluten-free bun is available, sealed to prevent cross-contact, but it’s only 100% safe and gluten-free while in its packaging, so long as it remains uncontaminated.
Are Chick-fil-A’s sauces gluten-free?
Most of them are (Barbeque, Honey Mustard, Polynesian), while one, as of writing, does have traces of wheat and gluten. Make sure you check the Dipping Sauces section of the Nutrition & Allergens page at Chick-fil-A’s official website for an up-to-date list.
How can I minimize cross-contact at any restaurant?
Follow these best practices from the Celiac Disease Foundation… Understand hidden sources, inform the staff, request glove/surface changes, and choose simple dishes. These should help you reduce the risks of cross-contamination.
Is it safe to order waffle fries?
Chick-fil-A’s Waffle Fries are fried in shared oil, so they may have traces of gluten. Do consider the waffle potato chips instead, which arrive sealed.
Can I trust the Nutrition & Allergens guide?
It’s maintained in good faith using supplier data, lab testing, and USDA references, but always ask your server to double-check, as recipes and suppliers can change all the time.
Otherwise, a quick check of Chick-fil-A’s official Nutrition & Allergens page before you order helps to ensure that you’re not ordering anything that’s not safe.
