Ultimate Dunkin Donuts Gluten-Free Menu Guide For 2025
Famed for their doughnuts, coffees and bagels, our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu guide dives even deeper to see just how much of their menu is celiac-safe!
After more than 30 years of being a celiac and learning more about adapting and evolving my gluten-free diet, I can safely say that bakeries and donut shops are my #1 enemy! 🥖🍞
Sure, if you are willing to look around, there’s still a good variety of gluten-friendly and gluten-free bakeries, donut stands, and cafés around, but there are still not that many of them. ☕
But what about arguably ‘THE’ donut shop – Dunkin Donuts? It’s a haven for doughnuts, lattes, and frozen treats, but celiacs might have to be careful, with gluten aplenty in the air! 🌾
Plus, with shared fryers, mixers, and cooking stations, even the few Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu items out there could easily brush shoulders with a wheat-filled donut crumb. 🍩
Cross-contamination aside, though, celiacs like us still have hope, as you can find a handful of gluten-free items, like hot and iced coffees, to their delectable hash browns. 🍠🥔
With that in mind, our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free guide here aims to break apart their entire menu to see what you can order as a celiac, and what else to look out for!
Table of Contents
Disclaimer
Again, I should remind you that Dunkin Donuts doesn’t have a dedicated gluten-free kitchen. So, everything from their donuts to breakfast sandwiches is prepped on shared equipment, and that raises a gigantic red flag when it comes to cross-contamination with gluten. ❗❗❗
Because of this, for the purposes of our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free guide, you should treat its menu as ‘gluten-friendly’ rather than ‘gluten-free’, so celiacs beware, and the folks here with severe gluten allergy should be careful too!
Another way to put this is, even though some of their menu items don’t contain any wheat or gluten by ingredient, Dunkin Donuts doesn’t test their menu items to meet the FDA’s <20 ppm gluten threshold for something to be properly considered 100% gluten-free. 💯
With shared fryers, mixers, and prep surfaces, even their safest menu items that don’t contain wheat or gluten by ingredients might still pick up traces of wheat, rye, and barley once it does make it to your table. So, remember to inform your server that you are a celiac or you have a gluten allergy! 👩🍳
Hopefully, they will try to be more careful when preparing your order, but you can also ask them for clean utensils or gloves, and make sure they are using a clean prep area.
Another hack of mine is ordering simpler items – i.e., black coffee or hash browns – to minimize risk. 🥔
Dunkin Donuts Allergen Policy (Gluten-Free)
When it comes to chains like Dunkin Donuts, it is important to keep up-to-date with with their nutrition and allergen policies, as things can and do change over time.🍩☕🍵
The best place to start is the official Dunkin Donuts Nutrition page, where you would find two PDF files to help kickstart the process:
- First up, there’s the Nutrition Guide PDF file, where you can find a complete list of every single Dunkin Donuts menu item, and the nutrition stats for each one – including serving sizes, carbs, calories, fat, cholesterol, fibre, sugar, protein, and more. It’s a pretty long list, too!
- Next, and most useful for us celiacs, there’s their Allergen & Ingredient PDF file, where you will find a list of every single Dunkin Donuts menu item, and the complete list of all the ingredients and allergens for each item. Be ready for a long read, though, as it is 173 pages long.
- From here, you could easily use the Allergen & Ingredient PDF file to filter out which items you can’t safely order as a celiac, and you should keep an eye out for items that contain any wheat, barley, rye, malt, gluten, and any other ingredients or allergens that you’re allergic to.
I’d suggest downloading or bookmarking the up-to-date version of that Allergen & Ingredient PDF file for reference, and with that out of the way, let’s take a closer look at their menu. 📝
Espresso & Coffee
Crafted from 100% Arabica beans and your choice of dairy or dairy-free milks, Dunkin Donuts’ espresso and coffee selection is just as iconic and as popular as their doughnuts. ☕🥤
Best of all, for all we celiacs of the world, not a single one contains gluten ingredients, though you might want to be a bit careful with cross-contamination, especially if you’re sensitive.
✅ Coffee
✅ Iced Coffee
✅ Cold Brew
✅ Americano
✅ Iced Americano
✅ Latte
✅ Iced Latte
✅ Signature Latte
✅ Iced Signature Latte
✅ Macchiato
✅ Iced Macchiato
✅ Cappuccino
✅ Iced Cappuccino
✅ Espresso
Just to be extra sure, though, let’s take a closer peek at all the many coffees and espressos that you can get from our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu:
Coffee: Brewed hot coffee is simply Arabica beans and water. No gluten by ingredients, but remind the barista you’re celiac so they can wipe the pour spout clean of any syrup or glaze residue, especially if you’re highly sensitive to gluten.
Iced Coffee: Chilled brewed coffee over ice; it’s just coffee and water only. Just ask that the ice scoop isn’t used for frozen toppings, too.
Cold Brew: Made by steeping Arabica grounds in cold water for 12+ hours. The ingredients list only coffee (and, of course, water), with no gluten agents or wheat.
Americano: Espresso shots topped with hot water. There’s no gluten in the drink, but be sure that the portafilter was wiped of any flavored shots first.
Iced Americano: Espresso poured over ice with water. Like the hot version, it’s free of gluten ingredients, but check that the ice bin is clean.
Latte / Iced Latte: Espresso plus steamed milk (or cold milk over ice). Milk is the only allergen, and there’s no wheat or gluten, but ask for a clean steam wand or pitcher.
Signature Latte / Iced Signature Latte: Includes Dunkin Donuts’ in-house syrup blends (e.g., Caramel Craze, Cocoa Mocha, etc.). Syrups contain no gluten or wheat ingredients, but make sure to skip any cookie-flavor toppings.
Macchiato / Iced Macchiato: Espresso marked with a bit of milk foam. No gluten agents in here, but be sure to remind the barista to use a clean steam wand or pitcher.
Cappuccino / Iced Cappuccino: Equal parts espresso, milk, and foam (or cold milk & foam over ice). Watch that the equipment isn’t shared with doughnut stations, as well.
Espresso: Straight shots of coffee concentrate. There are zero gluten ingredients, but just verify the portafilter is clean of cross-contact, particularly if you’re highly sensitive to gluten.
Again, it’d be a good time for me to remind you that while Dunkin Donuts’ espresso and coffee menus don’t contain wheat and gluten, they’re prepped on a shared workspace – steam wands, pitchers, and counters – so there’s a real risk of cross-contact with donut glazes and syrups.
Teas & More
Other than the coffees in our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu, you can also find tons of other teas, refreshers, and specialty drinks, all of which contain no gluten ingredients, too! 🍵
From simple steeped teas to Boosted Energy drinks, you could still get some taste of caffeine here at Dunkin Donuts, without any hidden traces of wheat, barley, or rye. 🍹🍷🍸
✅ Tea
✅ Iced Tea
✅ Dunkin’ Refreshers
✅ Dunkin’ Energy
✅ Hot Chocolate
✅ Matcha Latte
✅ Iced Matcha Latte
✅ Chai Latte
✅ Iced Chai Latte
With that out of the way, let’s see how these stack up in my personal Dunkin Donuts shortlist, and if there’s anything else you need to look out for:
Tea: Steeped black, green, or herbal tea bags with hot water. The ingredients list only tea leaves, with no gluten agents, but make sure you ask that the tea scoop isn’t also used for powdered doughnut toppings.
Iced Tea: Brewed tea poured over ice with optional sweetener. This uses the same tea bags as the hot tea, so it’s gluten-free by ingredients, but just ensure that the ice scoop is clean.
Dunkin’ Refreshers: Fruit-juice blends with B vitamins and green tea extract. The base contains no gluten or anything else celiacs need to watch out for, but skip any fruit-pie-flavor add-ins or crunchy toppings.
Dunkin’ Energy: Carbonated B-vitamin drink with green tea caffeine. There are no declared wheat or gluten ingredients, but the official Allergen & Ingredient Guide did mention the risk of cross-contact from the equipment with wheat products.
Hot Chocolate: Powdered mix of sugar, cocoa, and milk solids. The recipe has no wheat, but watch for whipped cream or drizzle toppings that may share pumps with doughnut glazes.
Matcha Latte / Iced Matcha Latte: Sweetened green tea powder blended with steamed or cold milk. The matcha and the milk alone are gluten-free, but remember to ask for a clean blender or milk frother to avoid stray crumbs.
Chai Latte / Iced Chai Latte: Spiced tea concentrate mixed with heated or chilled milk. The concentrate is made from tea, spices, and a sweetener, with no gluten ingredients, though the process uses shared equipment.
As with the espresso and coffee, the same rules and warnings apply here when it comes to the risk of cross-contamination. Dunkin Donuts’ tea brewers, scoops, and shakes often sit near the doughnuts station, so be sure you’re careful when it comes to cross-contamination. 🍩
Frozen Drinks
Otherwise, if you need some chilly refreshment, the Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu has a few frozen drinks too, and to make things even better, there’s no wheat or gluten here! ☕🍵🧊
✅ Frozen Coffee
✅ Coolatta
✅ Frozen Chocolate
✅ Frozen Matcha Latte
For comparison, let’s see how these frozen drinks compare to the other beverages that I noted earlier for our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free guide:
Frozen Coffee: Blended coffee, ice, and milk (dairy or alternative). The ingredients list only mentions coffee, water, and dairy, with no gluten agents, though remember to ask for no Mocha Swirl or cookie-flavor add-ins to keep it simple and properly celiac-safe.
Coolatta: A fruit-flavored slush (e.g., Blue Raspberry, Strawberry). The base is juice, water, and ice, with no gluten ingredients by recipe, but Dunkin Donuts does warn folks about the shared-equipment exposure to wheat and other allergens.
Frozen Chocolate: Frozen take on hot chocolate, so it’s simply ice blended with cocoa powder, sugar, and milk. The mix contains no wheat or gluten, but Dunkin Donuts’ allergen guide reminds you about the risks of cross-contact via shared equipment.
Frozen Matcha Latte: Ice blended with sweetened matcha powder and some milk. The matcha powder itself is gluten-free, but Dunkin Donuts will remind you that shared blenders pose cross-contact concerns, especially how close they sit to their donut stations.
As always, the same precautions carry over from what I mentioned earlier with the coffees and teas, as the blend coffee, tea, or chocolate bases here are all blended or scooped in those same stations that might be shared with doughnut toppings, so cross-contact can be a huge risk! 🍨🍧🍦
Sandwiches And More
Unfortunately, that’s pretty much it if you’re looking for the relatively safer bits of the Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu, as much of their menu is filled with wheat and gluten. 🥪🍔🌾
All of Dunkin Donuts’ breakfast sandwiches, from classic Sausage, Egg & Cheese to the Wake-Up Wrap, are built on wheat breads or tortillas, and there’s no gluten-free bread option.
❌ Sausage, Egg & Cheese
❌ Bacon, Egg & Cheese
❌ Turkey Sausage, Egg & Cheese
❌ Egg & Cheese
❌ Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich
❌ Wake-Up Wrap
Even though it’s a clear-cut conclusion, let’s break apart these sandwiches to figure out what makes them unqualified to fit into my personal Dunkin Donuts gluten-free shortlist:
Sausage, Egg & Cheese: A pork sausage patty, folded egg, and American cheese nestled in a wheat flour bread (bagel, English muffin, or croissant). Every single bread choice here comes with gluten, and there’s no gluten-free substitute or alternative available.
Bacon, Egg & Cheese: Crispy bacon strips, egg, and cheese on your pick of wheat-based bread. As with the sausage sandwich from earlier, the bread is 100% wheat, and you won’t be able to find any gluten-free alternatives here.
Turkey Sausage, Egg & Cheese: Turkey sausage patty, egg, and cheese on a wheat English muffin or bagel. The muffin and bagel are both made from enriched wheat flour.
Egg & Cheese: Folded egg and cheese on a wheat bagel, English muffin, or croissant. All the breads here contain gluten, and there’s no separate gluten-free version available.
Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich: Scrambled egg and cheese on a sourdough roll. Sourdough is made from wheat flour and is thus completely unsafe for celiacs.
Wake-Up Wrap: Egg, cheese, and your choice of meat wrapped in a wheat flour tortilla. The tortillas are crafted from enriched wheat flour, and there’s no gluten-free tortilla here.
So, to make things short, if you’re a celiac, avoid their sandwich menu at all costs! Some of the stuff that goes into each sandwich might be free of wheat and gluten, but when made on wheat-based buns, breads, and tortillas, it’s now been rendered hazardous for celiacs. 🌾
Snacks & Wraps
If you want something passably safe for celiacs, then you might be able to find something here in the snacks & wraps section of the Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu, though not many.
Between their handheld wraps and grab-and-go sides, only a couple of them don’t contain any wheat or gluten by ingredients and recipe, but beware of cross-contamination. 🥔🥓🥯
❌ Wake-Up Wrap
⚠️ Hash Browns
⚠️ Snackin’ Bacon
❌ Stuffed Bagel Minis
Let’s break them up bit by bit to see why the others here didn’t make it into our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu:
Wake-Up Wrap: Flour tortilla, egg, cheese, and your choice of meat are all wheat-based. There’s sadly no gluten-free tortilla option, and these wraps are then rolled and heated on shared presses.
Hash Browns: Potatoes, vegetable oil, yellow corn flour, and seasonings (salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and parsley). There’s no wheat mentioned in the ingredients, but they’re then fried alongside other battered items.
Snackin’ Bacon: Seasoned pork bacon strips with a sweet-savory glaze. The ingredients contain no wheat, and there’s no flavored variety that comes with gluten, though some cross-contact in shared ovens might be a thing worth worrying about.
Stuffed Bagel Minis: Mini bagels filled with cream cheese on plain or everything bagels. Both the bagel bases are made from enriched wheat flour, and the minis are handled on the same stations as doughnuts, making it supremely hazardous for celiacs.
Now, while there are two snack items here that don’t contain wheat or gluten by ingredients and recipe, remember to keep an eye out for cross-contamination, as these snacks and wraps would be prepared or fried on shared equipment – fryers, toasters, and prep counters! 🍩🌾
Bagels & Muffins
More bad news here (for celiacs, anyway) if you are thinking of sampling some of their bagels and muffins, as this whole part of the Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu is totally unsafe. 🥯
All of Dunkin Donuts’ bagels, muffins, croissants, and English muffins are made from enriched wheat flour and then baked in shared ovens, and there’s no gluten-free substitute here. 🧁
❌ Bagels with Cream Cheese Spread
❌ Muffins
❌ Croissant
❌ English Muffin
Let’s see what these bagels and muffins are made of that made them a no-go in our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu:
Bagels with Cream Cheese Spread: All bagel bases (Plain, Everything, Sesame, Cinnamon Raisin, etc.) use enriched wheat flour containing malted barley and wheat gluten, and are boiled and baked alongside other wheat products. The whipped cream cheese spread itself contains no gluten, but it’s then applied with utensils that handle doughnuts and pastries.
Muffins: Blueberry, Chocolate Chip, and the other muffins begin with a wheat-flour batter. Although the muffin fillings or toppings (fruit, chips) don’t add gluten, the base and shared muffin tins absolutely guarantee cross-contact with wheat or gluten items.
Croissant: Made from layered wheat flour dough and baked in the same ovens as bagels and muffins. The buttery laminations contain no gluten-free flours, and flakes from other pastries can land in your croissant during baking, with huge traces of cross-contamination.
English Muffin: Crafted with enriched wheat flour and yeast, and then toasted in communal toasters also used for doughnuts, with no gluten-free variation being offered. Once again, I should also remind you of just how much cross-contamination there is here.
Overall, you are not going to find anything here that is safe for celiacs among Dunkin Donuts’ healthy selection of bagels, muffins, croissants, and English muffins, and sadly, right now, you can’t find gluten-free or at least gluten-friendly alternatives or substitutes. 🧀🍫🍪🌾
Donuts
Finally, we get to their namesake, the doughnuts part of our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu, with a practically endless selection of doughnuts, of all shapes and sizes. 🍓🍫🍬
Unfortunately for celiacs, every Dunkin Donuts doughnut – cake, yeast-style, filled, and themed – is made from enriched wheat flour, in addition to malted barley and wheat gluten. 🍩
They’re then fried or baked alongside dozens of other wheat products, not to mention all the other doughnuts in here. Sadly, you can’t get gluten-free doughnuts at Dunkin Donuts. 🌾

Just so we know what’s inside each donut, let’s take a closer look at why these definitely didn’t make it into my Dunkin Donuts gluten-free shortlist:
Cake & Yeast-Style Donuts: Both start from enriched wheat-flour batters (including malted barley flour and wheat gluten). The cake varieties use chemical leavening agents, while the yeast donuts use yeast. Either way, the base is 100% wheat, and it’s then fried in shared vats.
Filled & Crullers: Eclairs, Bavarian Kreme, Boston Kreme, French Crullers, and others all use wheat-based doughs or choux pastry. The fillings and glazes add no extra gluten ingredients, but they’re then applied on the same equipment as every other donut type.
Specialty & Themed Donuts: Limited-edition sports and holiday donuts (like Ravens Flock and Fenway Faithful) follow the same dough and glaze recipes as base flavors. Their colored icings and sprinkles do not change the flour content, unfortunately.
Apple & Fruit Variants: Apple Fritter, Apple Crumb, and Apple ’n Spice are wheat-flour-based dough with fruit fillings or toppings, fried or baked alongside other donuts. Once again, there aren’t any gluten-free alternatives or substitutes available.
Personally, if you’re craving a donut and you’re either a celiac like me or if you have severe gluten allergies, then I’d suggest going to a certified gluten-free bakery, as they would not only use gluten-free recipes and ingredients, but they also keep cross-contact to a minimum! 🍞
MUNCHKINS Donut Hole Treats
Alternatively, for folks who want to enjoy a doughnut, but smaller and with fewer holes, you’d probably like our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu’s MUNCHKINS Donut Hole Treats. 🍩
That is, unless you are a celiac, as every MUNCHKIN variety is made from enriched wheat flour (including malted barley and wheat gluten), sugar, dairy, and eggs, with no substitutes. 🌾
❌ Butternut Munchkins
❌ Cinnamon Munchkins
❌ Glazed Blueberry Munchkins
❌ Glazed Chocolate Munchkins
❌ Glazed Munchkins
❌ Glazed Old Fashioned Munchkins
❌ Jelly Munchkins
❌ Old Fashioned Munchkins
❌ Powdered Munchkins
It’s clear by now that Dunkin Donuts’ staple doughnuts aren’t kind to celiacs, but for a bit more context, let’s see why these didn’t make it into our Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu:
Glazed & Powdered Munchkins: These cake-style doughnut holes are made from a wheat-flour batter, fried, and then tossed in glaze or powdered sugar. The base batter contains wheat and malted barley, and the coating is applied on shared equipment.
Filled Munchkins (Jelly, Butternut): They use the same wheat-flour dough but are then injected with fruit jelly or Bavarian crème. The fillings add no extra gluten, but the pumps and nozzles are shared with every other donut type, posing a huge risk of cross-contact.
Specialty Flavors (Cinnamon, Blueberry, Chocolate): Incorporate cinnamon sugar, freeze-dried blueberry bits, or cocoa into the cake batter before frying. All the flavorings are gluten-free by ingredient, but the batter mixing and frying happen alongside glutenous items.
Suffice it to say, just like the regular ‘holed’ doughnuts, Dunkin Donuts’ MUNCHKINS hole-less mini doughnuts are completely unsafe and downright hazardous for celiacs. It’s a shame that you can’t order gluten-free or gluten-friendly substitutes or alternatives, either. 🍩
To Sum Up
As a whole, the Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu is disappointingly minuscule, though this isn’t a huge surprise, as many other donut shops and bakeries lack many gluten-free options, too.
Looking past the cross-contamination risks – really, this sounds like the least of your problems as a celiac going to Dunkin Donuts – only a few menu items are actually gluten-free. 🍩🌾
All of their drinks are naturally free of gluten, wheat, and other allergens that celiacs have to be on the lookout for, though be wary of any cross-contact during the prep process. 🍵☕
If it were up to me, as a celiac, I’d personally just skip the Dunkin Donuts gluten-free menu and find any gluten-free donut shops elsewhere, though I might consider stopping by for some coffee!

Frequently Asked Questions
While working on filling up my Dunkin Donuts gluten-free shortlist, I found a couple of pretty interesting questions and queries, which I thought I might try and answer here:
Does Dunkin Donuts have a gluten-free menu?
No. Dunkin Donuts does not operate a certified gluten-free kitchen, and none of their standard menu items are tested to meet the FDA’s <20 ppm gluten threshold. Plus, even if you’re okay to look past strict ‘gluten-free’, most of Dunkin Donuts’ regular menu contains a lot of gluten.
Are Dunkin Donuts’ hash browns gluten-free?
Yes! Dunkin Donuts’ hash browns contain only potatoes, corn flour, and seasonings (no wheat), making them gluten-free by recipe. This is currently the only food item at Dunkin Donuts that is not made with gluten-containing ingredients in mind, aside from their Snackin’ Bacon.
Can I get a gluten-free donut at Dunkin Donuts?
No. Every single Dunkin Donuts donut and their MUNCHKINS hole is made from enriched wheat flour and fried on shared equipment, so none are gluten-free, and besides the cross-contact risk that you need to worry about, there’s currently no gluten-free alternative available.
Which Dunkin Donuts beverages are safe for celiacs?
Most of their coffees, espressos, teas, refreshers, and more contain no gluten ingredients – just watch for cross-contact, as they might share equipment, utensils, and prep areas with all their donuts – and there are no gluten-containing components in the standard syrups, too.
How can I minimize cross-contact at Dunkin Donuts?
Always inform the staff or your server that you’re a celiac, and ask them for some clean steam wands, pitchers, scoops, and separate utensils. Additionally, you can also opt for simpler items (plain coffee, iced tea, or hash browns) to further reduce the risk of exposure.
Share the love!
