Melting moments were a staple when I was growing up they are so easy and quick to make. With various different options, you will never get bored.

A great one for children’s parties and can be given as an edible present as they look really lovely when decorated.

This gluten free Melting Moment recipe makes about 20 biscuits.

Gluten Free Melting Moments Biscuits recipe

Ready to get started on making your own gluten free melting moments? Then lets go:

Ingredients – What do you need?

  • 110g (3.5 ounces) butter
  • 45g (1.5 ounces) icing sugar
  • 55g (2 ounces) gluten free self-raising flour
  • 55g (2 ounces) cornflour
  • 3-4 drops of vanilla essence (or 1 tsp ginger or 1 tsp cinnamon or 1 tsp  orange peel) depending on what you fancy)
  • 1 tablespoon desiccated coconut (if using)
  • Decorations: cherries, sweets or whatever you like (please note the decorations shown are not gluten free)

Instructions – What do you do?

  1. Cream the butter and sugar together.
  2. Sieve the cornflour and the gluten free flours and add to butter and mix well.
  3. Add vanilla drops or your chosen flavour.
  4. Roll mixture into about 20 walnuts size balls, flatten (you can roll in desiccated coconut if you are using it).
  5. Bake at 170c or Gas 3 for 20 mins.
  6. When cool cover with icing and decorate.
